    Moodle is an open-source Learning Management System (LMS) that provides educators with the tools and features to create and manage online courses. It allows educators to organize course materials, create quizzes and assignments, host discussion forums, and track student progress. Moodle is highly flexible and can be customized to meet the specific needs of different institutions and learning environments.

    Moodle supports both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments, enabling educators to host live webinars, video conferences, and chat sessions, as well as providing a variety of tools that support self-paced learning, including videos, interactive quizzes, and discussion forums. The platform also integrates with other tools and systems, such as Google Apps and plagiarism detection software, to provide a seamless learning experience.

    Moodle is widely used in educational institutions, including universities, K-12 schools, and corporate training programs. It is well-suited to online and blended learning environments and distance education programs. Additionally, Moodle's accessibility features make it a popular choice for learners with disabilities, ensuring that courses are inclusive and accessible to all learners.

The community provides support, resources, and documentation for users, as well as a forum for sharing ideas and best practices. Moodle releases regular updates and improvements, ensuring that the platform remains up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.

      This course is a continuation of Field Study 1 that adheres to the philosophy which will be formulated by the students on the premise of participation and teaching assistantship. It is school based and allows a pre-service student to observe demonstrated knowledge of learning environments that motivate 21st century learners to work productively, assume responsibility for their own learning (2.5.1), participate, and assist in limited actual teaching learning activities that relate to  learning assessment, understanding the role of assessment data as feedback in teaching and learning practices and programs (5.5.1), selection, development and use of a variety of teaching and learning resources including ICT (4.5.1) in preparation of the bulletin boards and instructional materials. Further, exhibits skill in planning classroom routines concerning learners’ safety and security (2.1). in the classroom; A portfolio which will contain sample lesson of learning plans and demonstration teaching of at least one subject content using differentiated teaching to suit the learners’ gender, needs, strengths, interests and experiences (3.1.1)  will be required; an action research shall be encouraged to start in this course to seek advice concerning strategies that build relationship with parents/guardians and the wider community (6.2.1) which will be concluded and critiqued during the internship.


       At the end of the  course, the learners are to 
Affective:
•    Manifest positive attitude towards the preparation of various curriculum guides considering  differentiated teaching strategies and the utilization  of ICT to suit the learners’ gender, needs, strengths, interests and experiences (3.1.1) ;
•    Reflect own personal qualities with those of the observed teachers enabling them to create their philosophy of education that addresses learners’ gender, needs, strengths, interests and experiences (3.1.1) in relation to the Code of Ethics;
•    Describe how to report students’ performance meaningfully; (5.5.1)

Skills:
•    Design a model of curriculum demonstrating considerations for the diverse learning environment, motivating learners’ to work productively, and assuming responsibility for their own learning (2.5.1);
•    Craft their own philosophy of education to address  learners’ gender, needs, strengths, interests and experiences (3.1.1) 
•    Compose personal portfolio on learning experiences related to Field Study 2 such as activities which relates to the philosophy of education, personal qualities of an experienced teacher, sample lesson plans, learning plans, actual classroom activities with complete documentation (e.g. pictures, write ups, activity results, rubrics, etc.) (4.5.1) (5.5.1) (2.1)

Knowledge:
•    Prepare an alignment of developing objectives pedagogy and assessment  using  traditional  instructional and ICT materials (4.5.1);
•    Conceptualize the role of a 21st century teacher in addressing the 21st century learner (diverse learners); (2.5.1)
•    Evaluate assessment practices against principles of assessment (5.5.1) (6.2.1)

This is a course that focuses on content knowledge and application within seminars, workshops and trainings (1.1.1) in understanding research-based knowledge and principles of teaching and learning (1.2.1) to uphold the dignity of teaching as a profession (7.2.1). It also motivates professional development goals (7.5.1) in understanding of learning environments that promote fairness, respect and care to encourage learning (2.2.1) that provides differentiated teaching to suit the learners’ gender, needs, strengths, interest and experiences (3.1.1) and seek opportunities to establish professional links with colleagues. (7.3.1)

 

 At the end of the semester, the learners should be able to: 

1. Demonstrate content knowledge and application within seminars, workshops and trainings across curriculum teaching areas.(1.1.1)

5. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of differentiated teaching to suit the learners’ gender, needs, strengths, interest and experiences. (3.1.1)

7. Demonstrate behaviors that uphold the dignity of teaching as a profession by exhibiting qualities such as caring attitude, respect and integrity. ( 7.2.1)



This course deals with the teacher as a person and as a standards and as a professional with content knowledge within the context of national and global teachers equipped with knowledge in the effective classroom management, positive use of ICT, classroom communication strategies.  1.1.1 2.3.1 1.3.1 1.7.1 It advocates the standards, personal educational philosophies and qualities of professional teachers. 7.1.1 7.2.1. It will include professional ethics, core values awareness of professional rights, privileges and responsibilities as well as the teachers, roles in the community as a transformative agent of change through professional reflection and learning to improve practice.6.3.1 6.1.1 7.4.1

 

                        At the end of the semester, the learners should be able to:

5.       Articulate a personal philosophy of teaching that is learner-centered 7.1.1

6.       Demonstrate behavior that upholds the dignity of teaching as a profession by exhibiting qualities such as caring attitude, respect and integrity 7.2.1

7.       Demonstrate an understanding of knowledge of learning environments that are responsive to community context 6.1.1
